BIOGRAPHY.
Born in Brugge (Belgium) in 1925.BIOGRAPHIE.After the secondary school, studies at the Municipal Academy of Fine Arts in Brugge and at the "Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques" (I.D.H.E.C.) in Paris.
During a three-year-stay in the former Belgian Congo (Zaïre) he made, with the support of the "Musée de l'Homme" in Paris, an important ethnological study of the Azande tribe of the Uele territory.
Started with an expressive painting, he changed over to a strange painting in relief finding finally his real destination in sculpture.
First sculpures in 1955. In the beginning he worked in wood and stone, later on in polyester and brass. The last decade he is working mostly in bronze.
Personal- and group exhibitions all over the country, a few abroad.
Obtained numerous selections for important international exhibitions of open-air sculpture abroad.
Works in public- and private collections at home and abroad.
Né à Brugge (Belgique) en 1925.BIOGRAFIE:Etudes secondaires et à l'Ecole des Beaux Arts à Brugge ainsi qu'à " l'Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques" (I.D.H.E.C.) à Paris.
Durant un séjour de trois ans dans l'ancien Congo Belge (Zaïre) il a fait, avec l'appui du "Musée de l'Homme" à Paris, une importante étude ethnologique de la tribu Azande du territoire de l'Uele.
D'une peinture expressionniste il évolue vers une étrange peinture en relief pour découvrir finalement sa vocation réelle dans la sculpture.
Premières sculptures en 1955. Il a travaillé d'abord le bois et la pierre, puis le polyester et le cuivre. Depuis quelques années il travaille principalement le bronze.
Expositions personnelles dans les principales villes de Belgiques et quelqefois à l'étranger. A participé à plusieurs expositions de groupe et à des foires d'art en Belgique et a été souvent sélectionné pour des expositions internationales importantes à l'étranger.
Oeuvres dans des collections publiques et privées aussi bien en Belgique qu'à l'étranger.

Na de humaniora, studies aan de Stedelijke Akademie voor schone Kunsten te Brugge en aan het "Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques" (I.D.H.E.C.) te Parijs.
Tijdens een driejarig verblijf in het voormalig Belgisch Kongo maakte hij met de steun van het "Musée de l'Homme" te Parijs, een belangrijke ethnologische studie over de Zande stam van het Uele gebied alsook over de door hen voortgebrachte kunst.
Evolueerde van een expressionistische schilderkunst naar een vreemde schilderkunst in reliëf om uiteindelijk in de beeldhouwkunst zijn werkelijke bestemming te vinden.
Eerste beeldhouwwerk in 1955. Aanvankelijk in hout en steen, later in polyester en koper. Momenteel werkt hij uitsluitend in brons.
Ontwerpt eveneens juwelen.
Individuele tentoonstellingen over het hele land, ook enkele in het buitenland.
Nam deel aan verschillende groepstentoonstellingen in het binnenland en werd reeds verschillende malen geselecteerd voor belangrijke internationale openluchttentoonstellingen in het buitenland.
Werk in het bezit van openbare en particuliere verzamelingen in binnen- en buitenland.
